Whiskey Sour Recipe

The whiskey sour has been around since the 1800s and is one of the oldest cocktails that balances sweet and sour. The tart lemon plays off the sweeter notes of the whiskey backed by a touch of simple syrup. You can use any of your preferred whiskies, but it works best with a smooth Canadian whisky and rye.

Ingredients You'll Need

  • 2 oz. whiskey
  • 2/3 oz. fresh-squeezed lemon juice
  • 1 oz. simple syrup
  • Ice
  • Maraschino cherry

Directions

  • In a cocktail shaker, shake the whiskey, simple syrup, and lemon juice with cracked ice
  • Strain into a chilled cocktail glass
  • Garnish with a lemon wedge and/or maraschino cherry
