Production & Maturation
A unique mash bill is cooked, fermented, and distilled at the Buffalo Trace distillery. This masterpiece is distilled in large column stills utilizing modern bourbon-making techniques. It is aged in new charred oak barrels for between 4-7 years to obtain its beautiful; burnt orange color.
Corn is the prime grain for Weller Special Reserve, but rather than rye; the bourbon whisky features wheat as the secondary grain. The exact ratio of mash bill is not disclosed; however, the smoothness the spirit has is a result of substituting the scenery grain.
