Clase Azul Tequila Día de los Muertos Limited Edition Colores 2022
The añejo tequila in this limited edition draws inspiration from Calaveritas de Azúcar, the vibrant sugar skulls traditionally made during Día de Muertos.
In tribute to this beloved tradition, our Master Distiller chose to finish the tequila in casks of rhum agricole, an artisanal rum from the island of Martinique. This unique rum, distilled from fresh sugarcane juice, imparts a rich essence that is absorbed by the wooden casks, giving the tequila its distinct flavor profile.
For the best experience, enjoy this añejo tequila neat in a tulip-shaped glass, allowing the complex aromas to fully unfold.
The decanter’s design is a tribute to the ofrenda, the colorful and elaborate offerings prepared for the deceased during Día de Muertos. The base of the bottle is adorned with intricate iconography of marigold flowers and papel picado (cut-paper designs) commonly found on altars. Its white glaze symbolizes alfeñiques (sugar confections), which are also part of the Día de Muertos tradition.
However, the most striking feature of the bottle is the depiction of a calavera de azúcar (sugar skull), a symbol that is both iconic and central to the celebration. Each bottle was meticulously handcrafted by our Mexican artisans, taking about 12 days to complete, ensuring that every detail captures the spirit and artistry of this special holiday.
